Securely sharing a file over the Internet isn't a difficult task these days. You can use a good email service, file storing and sharing services like Dropbox, or other popular communications services like WhatsApp, Skype, or Telegram. But, what if the requirement is to quickly share a file without logging in to a service?
Well, with this condition, the available options get trimmed down. If you are looking for a secure, fast, and hassle-free way of sharing files over the Internet, you might want to check out the newly-launched Web-based 'Firefox Send' service. In this tutorial, we will quickly discuss how you can use this service.
This Web-based service is very simple to use. All you need to do is to follow these steps:
- Head to https://send.firefox.com/
- Drag and drop the file you want to share in that window
- Wait for the file to upload
- Copy the link the service generates when the upload is complete
- Share that link with the recipient
That's it. When the recipient will open that link in their browser, they'll be able to download the file you shared. The following video should give you a better idea of how this service works:
Please note that this service is still in experimental phase, so we'll advise you against using it for sensitive transfers until it matures.
