System File Checker (sfc.exe) is a utility in Windows which is used to restore missing or corrupted system files. This article describes how to use that tool.
Repair Missing or Corrupted Files in Windows 10
Step 1. Open the command prompt with elevated privileges - click Command Prompt (Admin).
Step 2. Type in the following command and then press Enter key from keyboard.
sfc /scannow
Do not close command prompt until the verification is 100% complete. When the scan ends, the tool will replace all missing or corrupted files from cached folder %WinDir%\System32\dllcache.
