Many times people get worried because of the fact that their little kids are habitual of using the computer systems for a very long time. It is practically not possible to monitor your children physically all the time because of the busy routines of people these days. However, Windows 10 allows you to restrict the timings for which your children or any other user is allowed to use your computer system. In this article, we will explain to you the method through which you can set the time limits for any accounts in Windows 10.
Setting Time Limits for Accounts in Windows 10
In order to set the time limits for any accounts in Windows 10, you will need to perform the following steps:
Type cmd in the search section of your taskbar and then right click on the search result in order to launch a pop-up menu as shown in the following image:
Select the Run as Administrator option from this menu as highlighted in the image shown above.
As soon as you will click on it, your Command Prompt will immediately launch with administrative privileges. The newly opened Command Prompt window is shown in the image below:
The command syntax is:
net user <username> /times:<days,times>
Here, username represents the user name of that account whose usage time limit you want to set up and days and times represent the duration for which you want to have these settings. For example, you can allow a user account named Child to use the computer daily from 5 pm to 7 pm. For that, you will need to type the command:
net user Child /times:M-S,5pm-7pm
This command is also highlighted in the following image:
As soon as you will press the enter key, you will receive a message saying, “The Command Completed Successfully”. Now the Child user will not be able to sign in to the PC other than the specified timings.
By following the method discussed in this article, you can easily set the time limits for any accounts in Windows 10. In this way, you can easily monitor the computer system usage without even physically being there and hence, prevent any unwanted or unnecessary activities on your personal computer systems.
