This is probably the easiest method you can use to change your password.

  1. Press the CTRL, ALT and DELETE keys together. The security screen will come up
  2. Click on the “Change a password” button
  3. Type in your old password in the “Old Password” field
  4. In the “New Password” field, enter a strong password that contains both upper and lowers cases as well as numeric digits
  5. Click on the arrow button followed by clicking “OK” and you’re new password is good to go


You can also use the Settings app to change your password whenever you want to. Simply follow the below steps:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Click on the “Accounts” button
  3. From the menu on the left side of the screen, click on “Sign-in options”
  4. Scroll down to the middle of the screen and press the “Change” option under the “Password” option
  5. A new window will pop open and you will be prompted to sign in from your Microsoft Account. Simply enter your password and sign-in
  6. For security reasons, you may have to follow through the two-factor authentication process
  7. In the next screen, type in your old password, then your new password. We suggest you use alphanumeric passwords to avoid security breach
  8. Confirm your password by re-typing it in the third field and press “Next”
  9. Press “Finish” to complete the password change process


If you’re on your home screen, you can opt for changing your password from the start menu:

  1. Open the ”Start” menu
  2. Click the picture of the current user
  3. Now click on “Change account settings”
  4. From the left-side, select the “Sign-in options” button
  5. Scroll down to the middle of the screen and press the “Change” option under the password option
  6. Enter your current password and press “Next”
  7. Type in your new password in the “New Password” field
  8. Now type in your password hint to help you recover your password in case you forget it
  9. Press ”Next” and click on “Finish”
